October in Review - check back later for more pictures

Wow, I didn't realize how long it had been since the blog has been updated. With the introduction of facebook, my blogging has dwindled. It's easy to just post pictures on FB, but it isn't really a place for the story behind the photos.

We are glad October is finally over; what a busy (but fun) month! There were so many parties and events - the calendar was too full. There was Boo at the Zoo, two parties at Katie Claire's pre-school, Trick-or-Treating Down the Row at LSU and finally Halloween night.

Here the girls are at Boo at the Zoo. Annalise was a lady bug and Katie Claire was a glitzy cowgirl all in pink. I was still working on the Tinkerbell costume so the cowgirl was filling in. We met the Burrell's and the Conley's there. The kids had a great time and the weather was perfect.

The church, University Methodist, were Katherine Claire attends pre-school hosted a Halloween function. The pre-school was invited, but there weren't any of her friends there so we didn't stay long. Here are a couple of photos of the girls in the pumpkin patch. It was a costume party, though our girls were the only ones dressed up.

Sorority Row at LSU hosted their annual Trick-or-Treat Down the Row event on Wednesday, October 28th. This was our first time and
we were surprised how many people attended the event. It was organized chaos at its best! The Phi Kappa Psi house held a carnival for the kids. They turned the entire first floor of their house in to a black visqueen maze of carnival games. A couple of the houses offered face painting, which Katie Claire has turned into "hand painting". Mike the Tiger was out there to greet the kids, as well as several LSU cheerleaders and dance team members. What a great job they did putting this event together!

The pre-school hosted a Fall Fest on Friday, October 30th. The teachers and staff really outdid themselves! There were lots of cool games, neat prizes, face painting and cupcakes. What more could you ask for?

That night, Deron and I attended an adult only party down the street. It was fun to see all the creative costumes and catch up with old friends and meet new ones as well. We went as characters from the series Lost. Some people got it, but others had no clue. Same went for a couple dressed as "Jim and Pam" from The Office. There were dressed as a bride and groom with a cut necktie and ponchos from the Niagara Falls scene. Slim Goodbody made an appearance as well - anyone remember this guy from the 70's? Wish I didn't!

Finally, it was October 31st - Halloween had FINALLY (did I already say FINALLY!?!) arrived. It was the night of our Annual Wiker Halloween Party. Katie Claire and Annalise hosted lots of little friends and everyone brought great treats to share. The kids looked so cute running around in their costumes and playing in the backyard. The weather was perfect and from the looks of it, everyone enjoyed themselves. There wasn't as many houses open for business this year because of the LSU/Tulane game being played at home but the kids got more candy that they could (or would be allowed to) eat. On the downside, parents didn't have as much to choose from on the annual candy raid.

How much is to ask that two girls look at the camera at the same time and smile?!? After many, many attempts this was best one - at least they are looking and making the same face...whatever the face may be.
