It's hard to believe our little princess turned four this year. I begged Katherine Claire to stay three forever so I can always pick her up and cuddle with her but she insisted on turning four anyway. Actually, she's been driving us insane with the daily birthday countdown since right after Christmas. The word "obsessed" comes to mind. Where did the time go? When I look back at pictures of her from years past it all seems like a blur. Makes me want to hold on to Annalise that much longer - and be a smidgen thankful she's on the tiny side so I can pack her around longer!
This year we decided to keep it small and Katie Claire wanted a "no boys, girls only" party. It was a little iffy whether or not her daddy or her grandfather could even make an appearance. When PeePaw asked if he could come to the party while we were at Disney World, her response was an emphatic "no, you may not", which he found quite amusing. One other dad did show up and in the end "boys" were allowed. Katie Claire was having so much fun running around with her friends she hardly noticed.
The weather was perfect, a wee bit cold but everyone was so happy to finally play outside we barely noticed the chill. The girls played on the swing set and hopped in and out and on and off of the various bikes and ride-on toys outside. It was cute watching everyone take turns driving and riding. After the princesses had their nails painted and make-up applied, it was time for cake.
Katie Claire requested an Aurora cake. I brought the doll to Ambrosia and they did an incredible job recreating it. She was a big hit with all the girls!
